You won’t forget the magic of this exclusive tour as we whisk you through the colours, flavours and aromas of beautiful northern Italy. From the very minute your helicopter takes off you will be able to see vineyards stretching across hectars of rolling hills on which are perched ancient villages and castles. The gentle slopes of the Italian countryside, including Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, will be laid before you.

Wines and vines
The vineyards of this region turn the underlying countyside in to lively shapes, moderated by the changing of the seasons, and combine to give the Piedmont landscape its distinctive character, defined by its living culture of wine.
These areas produce wines of international quality and excellence. Wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Asti Spumante and Barbera d’Asti, produced on the back of a rich heritage techniques and a deep knowledge of the vines that have been cultivated here for centuries, including Nebbiolo, Moscato Bianco, and Barbera.

Truffle hunt with Barbaresco wine tour

Would you like to experience the once-in-a-lifetime thrill of truffle hunting with dogs? Follow our truffle hounds through the woods and experience the surge of excitement as they locate this edible treasure.

10.00 Arrive to Asti and transfer by car in the heart of Langhe, in Piedmont (Canelli 25km)

10.30 Guided excursion with truffle experts and dogs
You’ll enjoy some hours walking through picturesque woods, picking truffles along the way with a special guide and experts who will teach how to find truffles with the dogs. They will also tell you how to use them in the best way, including how to handle and cook them to their best advantage. During the truffle hunt you will try a typical Piedmont snack featuring red wine and delicious baci di dama or Lady’s Kisses, Italian hazelnut cookies, all set in the majestic woodlands of this region.

13.00 End of truffle hunt and lunch
The cuisine of Langa is certainly one full of flavours, colours and scents, capable of amazing you with its richness, and its variety of courses and ingredients. Visitors often end up falling madly in love with a simple but well-dressed dish of tajarin with meat sauce, or a dish of agnolotti al plin with butter and sage.

15.30 Transfer by helicopter to Barbaresco winery
After the meal, a wine tasting will be hosted at one of Barbaresco’s famous wineries. The building has belonged to a noble family of marquises since the 18th century but the family’s own first wine began production in 1973. In a short time it acquired a worldwide renown as being one of the best producers of Barbaresco wines from its own vineyards, which exclusively grow the Nebbiolo grape. A favorable microclimate allows the growth of high-quality grapes even during years in which the harvest is difficult. Recently, the winery has been considerably enlarged and provided with modern equipment for the production of wine of the highest quality standard – DOCG.  During your private guided tour of the winery you will learn from the local expert about the unique method of making this precious red wine.

Discover Barolo and Grappa

10.00 Departure with helicopter

10.45 Arrival at the winery
A small estate situated in Alba, right in the heart of Barolo. You will be given a personal tour of this modern winery with a wine expert that will include a tasting. The winery is one of the most respected names in Barolo and its wines are renowned for both the quality of its production and the exceptional terroir. This quality is comes from its exceptional vineyards which feature four of the greatest crus in Monforte: Ginestra, Bussia, Pajana and Mosconi. The owner, Domenico Clerico, is one of the key proponents of the modernist movement in the winemaking process of Barolo, creating more round, fruity wines.

12.45 Transfer by helicopter for lunch
Lunch will be held in a gourmet restaurant in one of the historic Savoy Residences in the Piedmont region. Piedmont is a cradle of Italian traditional cooking and it embraces the principles of Slow Food philosophy, which strives to preserve traditional and regional cuisine. The restaurant cooks from a daily supply of the freshest raw ingredients from the many local markets and producers based in the area. This ensures you will enjoy food of the highest quality.
You will also enjoy views of the highest quality and will be able to admire the green meadows and flowerbeds of the park surrounding the residence. You meal will be complemented by wines from the restaurant’s refined selection of more than 300 Piedmontese labels. These wines are stored in magnificent vaults that have accommodated every stage in the evolution of great Piedmontese red wines and is one of the most important Italian wine collections in the world.

15.00 Transfer by helicopter to Grappa distillery
Discover the history, tradition and craftsmanship necessary to produce a balanced and smooth Grappa at the family distillery located southwest of Milan. The drink is a fragrant, grape-based pomace Italian spirit that, in the case of the Berta family producing it, is aged in casks used to store single malt scotch whisky. The winery is the project is the merging of two cultures: the artisanal passion of the Berta family and the workmanship of the best Scottish whisky making tradition.
The barrels in which the grappa is aged are shipped from the Scottish distilleries of Lagavulin, Caol Ila and Mortlach, important names that have made and still make the history of the best Scottish whisky. The combination of the two influences produces a smooth taste and charm. Try for instance the Oltre il Vallo grappa, with its burst of flavours ranging from the notes of grape, raisins, dried fruit and almonds which give way to the slight hint of smoke.
